Join Our Volunteer Team – Help Make the Festival Shine on November 27th!

The Ladysmith Festival of Lights returns on Thursday, November 27th, and we need your help to make it magical. Every light, every smile, every moment is powered by volunteers like you. This year, we urgently need support in the following areas:

Barricade Volunteers – 22 Needed

Without enough barricade volunteers, we cannot safely run the parade on November 27th.

What you’ll do:

• Staff a barricade at intersections along 1st Avenue.
• Allow emergency or authorized vehicles through when needed.
• Enjoy the best view in town—right on the parade route!

Shift time: 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Perks:

• Unobstructed view of the parade and festivities.
• Great for families (one adult must stay at all times).
• Teams and groups can decorate their barricade with a banner.
• Be part of the biggest event in Ladysmith!

Children’s Activities Helpers – 10+ Needed

We need volunteers to help bring joy to the kids on November 27th—without you, these activities may not happen.

What you’ll do:

• Help coordinate and supervise children’s activities.
• Wear fun costumes so kids know who to go to for help.
• Option to walk in the parade beside the Santa House.

Requirements: Volunteers should be 14 years or older.

Raffle Ticket Sellers – Must Be 19+

Support our fundraising efforts by helping sell 50/50 raffle tickets during the event on November 27th.

What you’ll do:

• Use a phone or tablet to help attendees purchase tickets electronically via the Rafflebox interface.
• Assist attendees with scanning the QR code to buy tickets.
• Accept cash sales for those unable to pay electronically.

Shift time: 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Note: This role can be paired with barricade duties.
